Optimized and Minimized.
Hello!
We’re so excited to announce yet another Curse of the Deadwood Patch! This patch took us a bit longer, and we’re so grateful for your patience.
Here’s what’s our team has been up to:
First: the size of the game overall. Yes, we’re aware of how large of a download Curse of the Deadwood is, and we’ve discovered a few reasons why and addressed those. So, the game download size is now reduced by 60-70%.
Secondly, we’ve done a substantial amount of optimization for some performance challenges to make gameplay much more enjoyable.
Here's a full list of the tweaks and optimization that our amazing team has been clicking away on:
Enemies
- Improved the ability for deadwood enemies to navigate the Quartermaster's arena
Stability
- Remastered and removed a large number of game files to GREATLY reduce the size of the game
- Implemented a new grass system to further improve performance
- Optimized some models and effects to improve performance for multiple levels
New Features
- Added a Grass Quality setting to the video options to allow for more refined control of the amount of grass on screen
UI
- Removed an errant UI element that caused Leafton to appear darker than intended
Known Issues
- While this patch greatly improves the game's performance we will continue to look for ways to improve it more
- Some shadows may appear to flicker
Thanks again so much for your support and patience. We hope that these improvements will help to enhance your game play! Now... go smash some deadwood!
